The assessment revealed $24 million in deferred maintenance and identified a recurring annual need of $6 million to maintain infrastructure health. By integrating the data into Asset Essentials, Stroncheck translated raw data into actionable insights and presented a factual narrative to county leadership.
This data-driven approach helped secure increased funding for day-to-day maintenance and future capital projects. It also transformed the facilities team’s maintenance approach through streamlined work orders, technician efficiency tracking and improved resource allocation.
Optimizing workforce and operational sustainability
As the preventive maintenance framework took shape, the data also revealed staffing and sustainability challenges. By combining maintenance data with industry standards, Stroncheck demonstrated a significant resource gap and justified the addition of five new staff members.
The facilities team also implemented energy-saving benchmarks alongside its proactive maintenance strategy. Through these efforts, Stroncheck projects an extension of county asset lifespans by four years, anticipated to generate an additional $4.2 million in savings every five years.
